MusicNT have declared the Original Recipe Music Festival to be the biggest music festival in the Northern Territory today, with its full program now available to be downloaded! Original Recipe will run for a week in June (21-28) across the Territory, celebrating original music, venues and the industry. Along with various live music shows popping up across the region, there will be a series of industry workshops taking place ahead of the NT Song of the Year awards, which we at the AU are stoked to be a part of.
MusicNT's Executive Director Mark Smith notes the importance of Original Recipe, with the initiative solely focused on the showcasing and celebration of the wealth of talent existing up north.
"The diversity and size of the Original Recipe program demonstrates the strength of the contemporary music scene in the NT. It is the biggest music festival in the Territory and the response we've had just goes to show that the NT demands more opportunities and support for local music. We encourage everyone to get involved in Original Recipe, whether that's attending gigs, jam nights and workshops or buying local music or requesting local songs on the radio."

Bands and artists set to perform as part of Original Recipe include: Dave Garnham, Skank MC, Abbey Rose, Josh Goodrem, Maia, Skarlett, Roy Mackonkey, Unbroken Expanse and more.
The industry sessions, labelled under 'Secret Recipe' will see Original Recipe's visiting speakers/NT Song of the Year judges, plus previous winners offering some tips and insights across the board. the AU will be involved, with Sose Fuamoli heading to Darwin to not only cover Original Recipe in general, but in holding a session on engaging with the media.
