The shortlist of artists in the running to win the 10th Coopers Australian Music Prize has been revealed this morning, with the likes of Chet Faker, Remi, The Peep Tempel and #1 Dads all sitting pretty on the list! The winner, announced on March 4th, will win a $30,000 cash prize courtesy of the PPCA; their album being named number one by a panel of judges who will have listened to more than 300 records in order to make the decision. Pretty cool, hey?
Some artists nominated have had their work featured on the AMP shortlist in previous years, such as #1 Dads'Tom Iansek (winner of the 9th AMP as part of Big Scary), C.W. Stoneking and Total Control'sMikey Young, who won the prize in 2008 and was shortlisted in 2010 as part of Eddy Current Suppression Ring.
