For those Austin-bound for SXSW next month, this showcase is set to be one of the highlights of the 2014 music program for sure. NPR Music have announced their annual showcase, going down at Stubb's on March 12th, to feature sets by none other than Damon Albarn, St. Vincent and more.
Each year, NPR have been associated with presenting genre-bending and memorable artist lineups for their SXSW showcases and this one is most definitely keeping in line with the theme. Albarn will be showcasing tracks from his upcoming solo record Everyday Robots which, for the Australian attendees gutted over Blur's pulling out of the BDO, will definitely be a special experience we're sure. St. Vincent, whose latest album is actually streaming online now at npr.org, will be bringing her unique and mesmerising performance ability to the showcase, which is already making waves through recent gigs.
While Albarn and St. Vincent are sure to be bringing the goods, NPR will also be featuring R&B star Kelis, who is making her return to the stage for the first time since 2010, as well as Syracuse punk rockers, Perfect Pussy, whose debut album will be released in March.
NPR will be streaming the whole show if you're wanting to be in on it all but can't make it to Austin - head to www.npr.org/music for more info!
